Our story begins with a refugee family whose roots trace back to Vietnam. In 1981, Mr. Doan embarked on a journey seeking a better life, which led him to the Netherlands.

A year later, his wife, oldest son, and baby boy joined him in the foreign land. Another year passed, and the three eldest daughters arrived thanks to the Dutch government’s family reunion program. The Netherlands provided a haven of peace and opportunity, and the family settled in a quaint city in the South Netherlands, where they still reside today. This city not only became their home but also the birthplace of our company.

Like many newcomers, the family received assistance from the Dutch government in their early years. However, after just three years, Mr. Doan, driven by determination and a desire for self-sufficiency, made the brave decision to decline further support. With a borrowed sum of 8000 guilders from our aunt in Germany, he embarked on an entrepreneurial journey that would forever change their lives.

He started an egg-roll business, making delicious treats that quickly became popular with locals. He also created a unique hot sauce to complement the egg-rolls. They began selling their spring-rolls at local markets. Despite initial challenges, their perseverance paid off as customers fell in love with the spring-rolls and the special hot sauce. Word spread quickly, and Mr. Doan’s business thrived. This marked the humble beginning of hot sauce.

When the business started to flourish, customers began requesting more hot sauce to accompany their egg rolls. To satisfy the demand for hot sauce, Mr. Doan decided to increase the level of heat. This decision resulted in the creation of the hot sauce we now know as the Original Hot Sauce. Customers loved the sauce for its spicy, sweet, and tangy flavor profile.

Since those early days, our hot sauce has evolved into more than just a condiment. It now represents our family’s resilience, determination, and the diverse cultures that shape us. Our hot sauce embodies the flavors of our past and the promise of a brighter future, much like the journey of our family.
